Bikers host rideout to raise money for SCAA

-

Around 50 bikers will descend on Highland Perthshire to raise money for Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).

The Tiger 800 Mega Meet will take place on Saturday, May 14, at 8.30am at the Kenmore Hotel, Kenmore, and will see the group travel around 180 miles in a rideout.

A second rideout has been organised for the following day due to the number of bikers that will have travelled from all over the UK, and this will take in Glenshee, the Lecht, Aviemore, the Mountain and Queens View.

Yesterday, Angela Lamont, one of the organisers, said: “A lot of time and effort has been put into this but we wanted to give our bike friends a really good and memorable experience.

“The Tiger 800 Mega Meet started with bikers riding the Triumph Tiger 800 getting together for a rideout organised purely by a couple of friends, and because we felt it was so successful we have met up yearly at some designated destination.”

She added: “Normally we get a few prizes from a Triumph dealer for the raffle but I thought that this year we would try and get something a little different. I am pleased to say that thus far I have been given prizes from various local companies who like us appreciate the job that SCAA offers.

“The prizes donated range from a stay at the Kenmore Hotel, where we will be staying, to Scottish shortbread.”

The SCAA is based at Perth Airport.
