When the mower runs into an object it will reverse, turn and choose another direction. If it is lifted, the blade and mower will stop immediately.

Boundary and guide wires are buried just below the surface or pegged to the lawn.

The charging station transmits a signal around the boundary wire ensuring the mower stays within the working area, and when it’s time to recharge the mower finds the charger by either picking up a signal from the charge station antenna or following the boundary wire back to the charger.

The grass is cut by way of three fine, razor-sharp blades, mounted on a disc on the underside of the machine.

These blades rotate back into the disc to minimize damage, should they hit hard objects such as stone or branches.

The blades cut the grass very efficiently with clippings so small that they do not need to be collected.

However, this is only the start of the technology.

Under the hood is a GPS assisted navigation system, which creates a map of the garden, including where the boundary and guide wires are.

Automower will then know which parts of the garden it has covered and adjusts its mowing pattern accordingly, ensuring an even lawn coverage and excellent cutting result.

You can also control Automower via your smartphone through Automower Connect.

This allows you to start and stop the mowing and adjust its frequency as well as track the unit if it is removed.
