PERTH

A motorist is to stand trial accused of driving dangerously on the A9.

Dale Angus denied the charges against him when he appeared at court yesterday.

It is alleged that the 21-yearold caused other drivers to take action to avoid a crash on the A9 between Inveralmond and Broxden on August 21 last year.

Angus is alleged to have accelerated harshly and failed to keep a safe braking distance between his car and the one in front, causing the other driver to speed up to avoid a collision.

He is then said to have overtaken that car and another before slamming on his brakes, causing both other motorists to take evasive action to avoid a collision.

Angus, of Hillcrest, Perth, will appear again in June.

FRAUD ALLEGATION

A man is to stand trial accused of making more than £20,000 in a car-buying scam.

Barry Gillespie denied the charges against him when he appeared in court yesterday.

It is alleged that the 34-yearold pretended to another man that he would buy vehicles on his behalf before being reimbursed.

It is said that between July 1 and December 1 2013 at Glenshee Drive, Blairgowrie, he told the man he had bought or paid a deposit on a number of vehicles, inducing the man to make payments of £20,500 to Gillespie and that the money was obtained by fraud.

Gillespie will appear again in June, ahead of a trial in July.

Menzies, 34, of Perth Road, Scone, will appear again in July, ahead of a trial in August.
