Stoute looks for Aflame to light up Yarmouth

The course and distance winner aims to follow up victory last time out despite 5lb hike in the weights

Recent Yarmouth scorer AFLAME can fire once again when she returns to Norfolk for the totepool Supporting The Horse Comes First Handicap.

The three-year-old is bred to be something special on the face of it as a daughter of Dubawi out of Group One winner Magical Romance, but she has hardly set the world alight for Sir Michael Stoute so far.

Placed in each of her three maiden starts, Aflame is clearly not devoid of ability and improved for the switch to handicaps as it brought about her first success.

Lining up over seven furlongs at the seaside track, Aflame was well supported to get off the mark and while she made reasonably hard work of it, she showed plenty of resolve to oblige favourite backers.

A loose horse did not help her settle through the early stages and it is to her credit she found plenty for pressure when really pushed in the closing stages.

She might not be the most progressive individual in Stoute’s care and while a 5lb hike seems harsh for a neck win, Aflame looks capable of more when things pan out in her favour.

is in fine heart of late and should give another good account in the toteexacta Handicap, while will be suited by the return to six furlongs in the totepool Live Info Download The App Median Auction Maiden Stakes.
