Purchases of The Courier is necessary. Prize is as stated of a 17-seater (including the driver seat) Ford Transit Minibus. Groups must register to participate in the competition. All groups must be willing to participate in photographic publicity. Groups can enter as many times as they like as long as each entry has 50 tokens attached. Tokens will be printed in the Courier between Monday September 12 and Friday November 4, 2016. Registration can be online at www.thecourier.co.uk/ minibus or by completing a registration form printed in paper. Closing date for entries to be received is 5pm on Friday November 11, 2016. Photocopies of tokens are not permitted. DC Thomson employees and their immediate family are not eligible to register a group to take part. However if they are part of a group that wishes to participate another representative from that group may enter for the group. The winner will be the first entry picked at random from all viable entries received. The editor’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The Winner may be required to collect the vehicle. Prize includes VAT. Images are for representational purposes only. The Winner will be liable for providing a valid UK driving licence and a valid insurance certificate for registration purposes before delivery. No cash alternative for the vehicle is available. DC Thomson makes no representations or warranties as to the quality/ suitability of any of the vehicles offered as prizes. Except for liability for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Publisher, the Publisher shall not be liable for any loss suffered or sustained to person or property including but not limited to, consequential (including economic ) loss by reason of any act or omission by DC Thomson or its servants or agents, in connection with the arrangement for supply, or the supply, of any vehicles by any person to the prize-winner and where applicable to any family/ persons accompanying the winner or in connection with any of the competition promoted by DC Thomson. The winner must keep the bus for a minimum of three years. The bus may have some promotional mileage on it. The winner is responsible for their own insurance and upkeep of the bus. Driving of the minibus must not be for hire or financial reward and DC Thomson cannot be held liable for the misuse or abuse of minibus driving licence requirements as stated below:
Drivers who hold a driving licence issued prior to 1st January 1997, permitting you to drive Group A (or B for automatic) vehicles, can drive minibuses in the UK but not in mainland Europe, provided you are over 21 years of age. (On new style licences, but still issued prior to 1st January 1997, the corresponding categories which allow the entitlement to drive minibuses are listed as B and D1). Drivers who passed their test after 1st January 1997 are not given this category and are required to pass PCV minibus theory, medical & practical tests to obtain a D1 licence.
