Bankfoot Inn gets paws up by dog owners in national survey

-

A Perthshire hotel has been named as one of the top places in Scotland to eat with your dog.

The Bankfoot Inn came 10th in a list of dog-friendly eateries voted for by the public, in a survey organised by Vets4Pets’ Scottish practices.

Voting took place over the summer when dog owners were asked to vote for their favourite from a list of 40 food businesses which were split into four categories; cafes, pubs, hotels and B&Bs and restaurants and bars.

First placed Bay Tarbet Hotel in Loch Lomond took 50% of the vote.

Adam Charleston, of Vets4Pets, said: “Scotland is blessed with so many beautiful places that owners can walk around and explore with their dog, but they all must be able to eat together, so we launched this search to showcase the hundreds of dog-friendly food and drink establishments that owners and their dogs can enjoy together.

“We’ve been overwhelmed with the survey’s response. It’s fantastic to see so many dog owners getting involved to let us know where their favourite places are. The variety of venues in the top 10 shows just how many wonderful places there are to visit with your dog; from pubs in Glasgow, to hotels in Perthshire.”

The GRO Coffee café in Irvine came second, while The butterfly and the pig and WEST Brewery, both in Glasgow, finished in third and fourth and The Coach House Coffee Shop in Loch Lomond rounding off the top five.

The Culzean Castle Home Farm in Maybole, BrewDog in Edinburgh, The Brown Bull in Lochwinnoch and Siempre Bicycle Cafe in Glasgow completed the top 10.
