Fears grow for missing pastor

-

A fourth day of searching for a missing Perth pastor has drawn a blank.

Peter Edwards was reported missing after leaving his home at Scone in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The 65-year-old is known to have got the number seven bus to Perth city centre. He then travelled to Aberdeen where he boarded another bus to Stonehaven.

He was seen arriving in the town’s Barclay Street at 3.20pm.

Officers have been reviewing CCTV around the area and carrying out door-to-door inquiries.

A force spokesman confirmed that the investigation was ongoing.

Mr Edwards is 5ft 9in tall, balding, with a grey beard and sideburns. He speaks with an American accent.

He was last seen wearing gold-rimmed glasses, a longsleeved grey shirt, black tank top jumper, tie, grey trousers and black leather shoes.

Mr Edwards is an associate pastor at the Perth Christian Fellowship Church which he helped establish in the 1980s.

He gave a sermon at the church on Friday, October 28, and spoke about the importance of hope.

Congregation members have been praying round the clock for Mr Edward’s safe return.

Friends fear that Mr Edwards may have fallen ill after wandering off on his own.

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101.
