Architectural gem
The Norman church of St Athernase in Leuchars dates back to the 12th Century and the beautiful building is regarded as one of Scotland’s architectural gems.
St Athernase Regeneration Fundraising Committee has taken on the challenge of raising £1.8 million to enable major repairs to be carried out to make the building fit for use.
Having been fortunate to obtain grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Historic Environment Scotland, a number of fundraising events are planned, the next of which will be a Christmas Craft Fair to be held on Saturday, November 12 in the Burnside Hall in Balmullo from 10am till 4pm.
Many local artists, craftspeople and food producers will tempt you with a wide variety gift ideas. There will also be a raffle, bottle stall and baking stall.
Entry is £2.50 for adults and £1 for children, which includes refreshments. There is ample parking available.
