Degrees and diplomas were conferred on 40 students at a graduation ceremony of Dundee College of Technology, held in the hall of the College of Art. Dr J.R Whittaker, principal, said in his opening speech that the ceremony was a unique occasion and a landmark in the development of the college. “These are the first degreee awards in the college history,” he said. “The college has been officially recognised as worthy of planning, directing and controlling the activities of its own students.”
