Johnson urges people not to read into the ‘sturm und drang’

-

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson used a German term when asked about the resignation, and the possibility of a snap general election, during a visit to Berlin.

“I would really not read too much into the legal decisions that you have just seen today. Or, indeed, some of the sturm und drang (storm and pressure), if that’s the word I want, going on in the Parliament at the moment. I think the direction is very clear. The will of the British people was expressed very clearly, and it’s the decision of Theresa May and her Government to get on and make the process work.”
