Bluebell up to the challenge

-

Dundonald Bluebell knew they would need to be on top of their game against Premier League leaders Sauchie, and they lived up to the challenge.

A Darren Cumming freekick put the home side in front after just seven minutes but after that the Super League side were well on top.

Lewis McKenzie equalised on 14 minutes before putting his side in front 10 minutes before the break. Greg Meikle made it three after 57 minutes and McKenzie completed his hat-trick on 71 minutes. Paul Quinn got the fifth from the penalty spot before completing the scoring on 77 minutes.

Lochgelly Albert boss Craig Ness was fill of praise for his side despite losing 3-0 at home to Super League side Newtongrange Star.

The visitors were awarded three penalties in the first half hour, Lee Currie converted the first two but then missed his hat-trick chance.

The visitors had Jordan Cropley sent off midway through the second half but the 10 men extinguished any Albert fightback when Errol Douglas notched a third.

Kirkcaldy YM more than matched Super League Broxburn Athletic at Denfield Park until half-time but the second half was a different story.

Scott Small put YM in front at the break but a brace from Kieran Anderson and goals from Craig Purves, Zander Miller and Nick Locke saw the Lothian side take control.
