Adam hat-trick in Welfare’s win

Lochore Welfare inflicted more damage on Arbroath Vics at Ogilvy Park as they recorded their first win of the season, thrashing the hosts 5-0.

James Adam grabbed a hat-trick with Logan Donaldson and Bijan Habib helping out with a goal each.

Kinnoull found Coupar Angus difficult opponents at Foxhall Park.

Gordon Norrie put Alan Cameron’s side in front after eight minutes but it wasn’t until the 46th minute that Rhys Davies scored the second.

Davies then made sure with his second five minutes from time. The win takes Cameron’s side to the top of the North League.

Kirriemuir Thistle are flying at the moment and now sit just three points off top spot following their 5-1 demolition of East Craigie at Craigie Park.

Darren Scott, with goals on five and 13 minutes, got Thistle off to a good start and a second-half double from Bryan Duell and a fifth from Kamil Kadela saw the Angus side to a comfortabl­e victory.

Charlie King’s Brechin Vics recorded a much-needed victory as they beat beleaguere­d Forfar Albion 5-1 at Guthrie Park. Vics’ scorers were Kerr Hendry, Connor Mitchell, Scott Black, Steven Eaton and Ryan Young.

A resurgent Newburgh Athletic put Lochee Harp to the sword on Saturday, running out 4-1 winners at Beechwood.

Daryl Gowans’ goal on the half-hour saw Harp lead at the break but a double from Steven Harris was followed by a quickfire brace from Gavin Thomson in Burgh’s third league win on the bounce.

Thornton Hibs manager Craig Gilbert notched his 100th victory with the club, 2-0 at Scone Thistle, lifting the Fifers into second place above Blairgowri­e. Garry Thomson was Hibs’ scorer, with a goal in each half.

In the South League, Oakley United’s improvemen­t under Lee Richardson came to a grinding halt at Dunbar United, the Lothian side winning 2-0.

Rosyth went down 2-1 at home to West Calder United. You now have to go back to the end of September for Rosyth’s last league win.
