Lawrie and Symington, Forfar, had forward 370 suckled calves and 185 store cattle at their annual show and sale of spring-born calves at Forfar. The show of cattle was judged by Shona Stevenson, Carbello Farm, Cumnock. Spring-born suckled bullock calves (195) sold to 315.2p for a 330kilo Limousin from Westerton and to £1,190 for a 470kilo Limousin from Auldallan to average 235.6p. Heifer calves (141) sold to 328.6p for a 280 kilo Charolais from Wester Bleaton and to £1,040 (twice) for a 455 kilo and 430 kilo Limousins from Ben Lawers to average 236.5p. Meanwhile, store bullocks (123) sold to 245.6p for a 395 kilo Charolais from East Balloch and to £1,245 for a 640 kilo Limousin from Wairds of Alpity to average 203.8p. Store heifers (62) sold to 226.2p for a 420 kilo Limousin from Strone and to £1090 for a 490 ki lo Charo la is from Middle hill to a vera ge202.3p.
