WILDLIFE The Scottish Wildlife Trust’s Perth centre will hold this month’s meeting at the Luncarty Church Centre on Friday, beginning at 7.30pm.

Following a brief AGM the guest speaker will be Anna Jemmett of RSPB Loch Leven who will deliver an illustrate­d talk about the RSPB Tayside reserves. After the talk refreshmen­ts will be available and all members and visitors are welcome. BLAIRGOWRI­E To mark the approach of St Andrew’s Day, Blairgowri­e branch of the SNP is holding a foodbank collection on Saturday from 10am until 2pm in their yellow gazebo at the top of Allan Street.

All long-dated foodstuffs are needed but sugar, long-life milk and fruit juice and seasonal items would be particular­ly welcome. Donations can also be handed in to the Leslie Street office during office hours. MS SOCIETY The local branch of the MS Society thanked everyone who took part in the quiz night held at Letham Community Club in Perth, the club staff for their help on the night, Asda and Morrisons who donated raffle prizes, and quizmaster Ian McLaren. It raised £346. FAIR CITY SINGERS Friends of Perth Cathedral Music (FPCM) welcome the Fair City Singers in concert at Perth Cathedral St Ninian’s, North Methven Street, on Sunday December 4 at 7.30pm.

Tickets, available at the door, cost £10, £8 concession­s, £6 FPCM members, accompanie­d children free. Everyone welcome, proceeds go towards musical training in the cathedral. HEN CHARITY The British Hen Welfare Trust will be rehoming birds, who would otherwise go to slaughter at the end of their commercial life, on Saturday December 3 in Perth.

Anyone interested in giving hens a second chance is urged to register on the BHWT’s website at www.bhwt.org.uk and then call 01884 860084.
