Woman charged after drugs raid
A 32-year-old woman has been charged after a substantial drugs recovery in Perth.
Police Scotland said heroin with an estimated illicit street value of £5,600 was recovered from an address in the city’s North Methven Street yesterday.
The seizure was made as part of an ongoing operation by the police.
A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal and the woman involved is expected to appear at Perth Sheriff Court today.
The police said the success of their battle against drugs was aided by a flow of information from the public, which was greatly appreciated.
Sergeant Mike Ness from the Community Investigation Unit said: “A significant amount of drugs has been recovered today as part of ongoing intelligenceled activity under Operation Slate.
“Throughout Tayside, we are committed to tackling drugrelated criminality and reducing the harm caused by drugs.
“Supported by local officers, specialist search teams and the dog unit from Operational Support Division, we will act on the information you provide to take drugs out of our communities and arrest those involved in their supply.
“If you have concerns about drug-related activity contact us on 101. If you want to tell us about your concerns, but you want to remain anonymous, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
