Perth Concert Hall a national asset for events

Venue in heart of Scotland proving popular for politicans and delegates

Horsecross Arts is the creative organisation set up in 2005 to run Perth Concert Hall and refresh and reposition Perth Theatre – Scotland’s oldest repertory theatre company.

Award-winning Perth Concert Hall has established itself as one of Scotland’s premier conference venues.

Helped by its location in the heart of Scotland, being within 90 minutes travelling time of 90% of the population, the concert hall has welcomed more than 212,000 delegates since 2005.

Michaela Ruff, conference and events manager at Horsecross, said the city centre location, bright and modern building, flexible spaces and dedicated support team offer the business visitor a tailored experience to meet the most exacting requirements.

She added: “In addition to conferences, Perth Concert Hall has hosted gala dinners, exhibitions and trade fairs, competitions, awards ceremonies and weddings.

“The team works hard to successfully mix the rich and varied cultural programme with conference business with production staff regularly working overnight to set up the change from one event to the next.

“Many business clients return year after year.

“The international Mountain Studies conference has returned three times in 2005 and again in 2010 and 2015, with over 400 delegates from 60 countries contributing during five days of field trips, keynote speeches and parallel workshops.”

Among those that have found a home at Perth are Scotland’s political elite.

She added: “All major Scottish political parties have returned to Perth, praising not only the venue, but the variety of accommodation and restaurants on offer locally, which all form part of a successful conference,”

Michaela said the re-opening of Perth Theatre later this year with the addition of a 200-seat studio theatre will be an excellent complement to the existing conference offering.

Split floor levels and new break-out spaces will allow additional delegate areas without disturbing the busy hum of the daytime cafe.
