Inverness boss Foran expecting ‘busy’ deadline night

-

Richie Foran has promised Inverness fans that they will not be disappointed at the end of the transfer window.

The Caley Thistle manager has been trying to add a further two players to his squad after signing strikers Dean Ebbe and Henri Anier earlier in January.

“It’s probably going to be last minute but it’s still looking good,” Foran said.

“It’s going to be busy. You’re trying to get players in from clubs and those clubs are trying to get others in before they let players out, so it can be a bit frustrating.

“We’ve got two or three on the go just now and players in reserve if they fall through. I’m sure the supporters will be delighted with what we bring in.”

Foran’s attempts have not been helped by the scheduling of their Ladbrokes Premiership encounter at Hamilton hours before the deadline closes tonight.

“It’s not great timing for a game of football but it’s part and parcel of football,” he said.

“We’ll have the club secretary and chairman working hard and we’ve got enough staff. You’d rather be up here to deal with any problems but you’ve just got to deal with the situation.”

The game pits the Premiership bottom two against each other and Inverness need to win to jump above Hamilton, who currently lead on goal difference.

Hamilton, meanwhile, have completed their second January signing after landing Greek right-back Giannis Skondras.

The 26-year-old was released by PAOK Salonika earlier this month but Accies boss Martin Canning has now handed him a deal until the end of the season.

However, the Lanarkshire outfit’s supporters will not be able to see the former Greek youth cap in action when they take on Inverness.

Canning is still waiting for his new capture to receive international clearance but is hopeful Skondras will be free to make his debut on Saturday when his side take on Kilmarnock.

The Hamilton boss is also on the lookout for a striker but says he may have to leave it late as the 11pm transfer deadline looms.

Meanwhile, Ross County hope to have Andrew Davies back in their squad for the visit of Motherwell tonight. Winger Chris Burke is still trying to overcome the effects of illness.

Veteran Well striker Scott McDonald will be available after the Fir Park club decided to challenge his red card received against Rangers.
