EasyJet soars in Scotland

EasyJet flew a record number of annual passengers to and from Scotland during last year.

More than 6.4 million people flew with Scotland’s largest airline, an 11% increase on the previous year and 30% more than five years ago.

Business travellers numbered two million.

Edinburgh accounted for just over 3.6m passengers with Glasgow having just over 2m.

Inverness and Aberdeen accounted for around 480,000 and 231,000 respectively.

EasyJet is set for further Scottish growth in 2017 with 5% more seats to more than 7.4m.
