Wanderers secure Perthshire Cup

-

Wanderers retained the Perthshire Cup with victory over Strathallan’s U18 squad as the curtain came down on the district indoor league at Douglas Sports Cente, writes our women’s hockey correspondent.

Strath’s youngsters merited being level at the break, rising to the challenge as Izzy Folan (2) and Alexa Schroder duly responded before Wanderers’ youth internationalist Emily Dark took the game by the scruff of the neck to fire in a nap hand.

Senior colleague Amy Snelle added four to round off a flattering 12-3 win as the schoolgirls ran out of steam in the last five minutes.

The Midland Hockey Union is looking for a youth programme co-ordinator to continue their development initiative (for age groups U10, U12, U14).
