BANKFOOT:

A table-top and craft sale is being held in Bankfoot Church Centre on April 8 in aid of centre funds. Tables cost £20 and can be booked by calling Evelyn on 01738 710534.

AUCHTERARD­ER:

Auchterard­er and District Local History Associatio­n’s most recent speaker was Shirley Paterson, scheme manager for the Tay Landscape Partnershi­p, a project which seeks to celebrate and enhance the Tay and Earn landscape.

The next meeting is on February 17 at 7.30pm in the Aytoun Hall, where Maarten Versteeg, chairman of Dunning Community Trust, will speak on Kincladie Wood and the Roman monument.

KINROSS:

Glenfarg Village Folk Club hosts Dave Gibb at the Green Hotel, Kinross, on Monday February 13. Doors open at 7.30pm.

ART ASSOCIATIO­N:

Perthshire Art Associatio­n’s syllabus evening will welcome Jennifer Argo, recipient of the 2016 JD Fergusson Arts Award Trust’s (Travel) Award.

A graduate of Gray’s School of Art, she used her award to travel to New Zealand and she will speak about the trip at Perth Museum and Art Gallery on Thursday at 7.30pm. Members free, non-members £3 admission at the door.

NEEDLEWORK:

Perth Needlework Circle’s next meeting will be on Wednesday from 2 to 4pm at Vision PK, New Row, Perth. Lesley McClintock will lead the session on applique. All are welcome.

METHODIST CHURCH:

A knit-and-natter session runs at Perth Methodist Church in Scott Street on Tuesday from 2 to 4pm. It will be an informal afternoon of coffee, cake, chat and craft.

There will also be a soup lunch on Saturday February 11 from 11.30am to 1.30pm. Homemade soup and bacon rolls will each cost £2. There will also be home baking and books on sale.

FESTIVAL:

Perth Burns Club’s schools festival will be held on Sunday February 12 from 1pm at the AK Bell Library.

There will be competitio­ns in Scots songs, verse and music featuring primary and secondary pupils from schools and clubs across Perth and Kinross.
