Strong Vics squad bid to do double over Newburgh

-

Arbroath Vics expect to be near to full strength for the visit of Newburgh.

Lee Jones is absent due to work commitments but everybody else should be available for the game that gives Vics an excellent chance to do the double on a team that were beaten 3-2 at East Shore Park in November.

Newburgh will be hoping to bounce back from last week’s 5-0 defeat at leaders Kirriemuir Thistle.

Scott Finlay is available after completing his suspension in the only change to the squad. The East Shore Park club have received a boost this week with Greg Fairweather, Cammy Black and Fraser Wilson all extending their contracts.

Brechin Vics will be hoping they can put an end to their poor run as they host promotion-chasing Kinnoull.

Noull manager Alan Cameron, whose sidehaveslippedawayfromthepromotion race slightly with no win in four, has an almostfullsquadavailable.Theonlyabsentee is Chris MacCaffrey who is on holiday.

Luncarty were drawn against junior heavyweights Auchinleck Talbot in the next round of the Scottish Junior Cup but manager Jonny Kelly’s mind is firmly on this week’s trip to North End.

“I am looking forward to seeing how we perform against a decent North End side. We go there with a bit of confidence so I am eager to see how we go,” he said.

The Perth side are without the suspended Danny Dobie, while Mark Gordon is on holiday, otherwise they have a full squad available. The Dokens go into the game without injured duo Ross Sievewright and Craig Scrimgeour.

It’s a basement clash at Central Park as Lochore Welfare host Forfar Albion.

The Fifers have had bad luck with results recently and manager Andy Healy is hoping that run will end and his young side will get the rewards that their performances have deserved.

There is a big game at Farquharson Park where Scone Thistle take on Blairgowrie.

Blair have dropped back recently and are level on points with Scone, who have been on a great run of form, winning the last five games on the bounce to put themselves in with a shout of promotion.

Blairgowrie go in to the game with a full squad after welcoming back Ryan Menzies, Gordon Pirie, John Black and Robbie Hood, although Danny Millar and Greg McDonald face fitness tests.

Scone boss Derek Lawson is looking forward to the game but will have to do without Fraser McDonald, who misses out due to work commitments.

Thornton Hibs expect to be at full strength as they welcome in-form Coupar Angus to Memorial Park.

With Kirriemuir in cup action and Scone facing Blairgowrie, Hibs could gain ground on their promotion rivals.
