A restaurant chain which donates 100% of its profits to local charities and good causes has outlined its plans to open a store in Dundee.

Boozy Cow – who have restaurants in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling – have confirmed they will open a new eatery in the premises of the recently-closed Laing’s Bar and Kitchen on Roseangle.

The company confirmed they would retain the beer garden feature many pub-goers feared would go, and would be offering food and drink at the new venture.

In a statement, the company said: “Rumours have been circulating the streets of Dundee, whispers about Laing’s and the Boozy Cow and murmurs of beer gardens no more. We’re thrilled to announce that some of the rumours are true.

“The Boozy Cow Dundee will open at 8 Roseangle where currently Laing’s Bar and Kitchen is located. We are also happy to confirm that we are keeping the dope-ass beer garden.

“Laing’s was an established and well-liked institution in Dundee, and we understand that there are some of you who are gutted to see it go.

“Rest assured that we’ll do our best to honour its legacy.

“Since we’re keeping the beer garden, you’ll still be able have your summer hideout but with awesome Boozy Cow burgers instead. We will also be hosting weekly events like live music, potentially DJs and pub quizzes.”

Boozy Cow was set up by businessman Garreth Wood, who wanted to merge his “love of hospitality and philanthropy” after 14 years of working in the catering industry.

Garreth and Boozy Cow pride themselves on using 100% Scottish beef, strive to use locally sourced produce and give all of the profit earned to local charities and causes.

Boozy Cow Dundee are looking for staff, and those interested can apply via their website.

We are also happy to confirm that we are keeping the dope-ass beer garden. COMPANY STATEMENT
