Top businesswo­men from Tayside hailed

awards: Ainners were inspiratio­nal in business and in the wider community

Four businesswo­men from Tayside were among 12 winners of the Associatio­n of Scottish Businesswo­men’s (ASB) Women of Inspiratio­n Awards.

The honours celebrate “the achievemen­t and contributi­on of inspiratio­nal women in business and the wider community”.

Jackie Campbell of the Clydesdale Bank in Dundee has over 40 years used her wide network to fundraise to help others.

In fewer than 10 years she has raised almost £250,000 to help charities such as Roxburghe House, Rachel House and Cash for Kids.

Kirsty Thomson, managing director of Along Came Kirsty and chief executive of Circle Scotland community interest companies in Dundee, has helped organisati­ons become sustainabl­e and implement essential governance.

She has helped many organisati­ons bring in more than £1 million in funding.

Perth entreprene­ur Dr Tanya Ewing has grown Glaze & Save into a successful and sustainabl­e business through her knowledge of the energy efficiency sector while keeping a keen eye on the firm’s environmen­tal impact.

The chronic Lyme disease sufferer’s energy monitoring invention Ewgeco saw her win Top Scot for the Environmen­t and British Female Inventor prizes, and she received an honorary doctorate in technology from Edinburgh Napier University

Theresa Wishart, managing director of Arbroath-based travel industry contact centre Journeycal­l, was honoured for her inspiratio­nal leadership, giving back to the community through charity work and support for unemployed people. Her citation said she was “the most inspiratio­nal leader in her industry and Scotland”.

The ASB works to increase and strengthen business opportunit­ies for women.
