Dundee promoters Make That A Take bring an explosive St Patrick’s day punk tear-up to Conroy’s Basement tonight.

Entitled Dae Yer Ane Club, the special night features lionhearte­d Irish punk rock ‘n’ rollers Good Friend, who headline a four-band line-up, also featuring The Murderburg­ers, Lachance and Green Bears.

The post-show DYAC night will feature MTAT DJs from 11pm. Tins for Tunes will be in full effect in support of Dundee Foodbank.

Doors at 7pm and advance tickets are £5 or it’s £7 on the door, which also gets you into the club night.

Fantastic folk/bluegrass band Southern Tenant Folk Union play the latest Dundee Acoustic Club show on Sunday at Roseangle Arts Café.

The band have just released their seventh album Join Forces and with their allacousti­c banjo, fiddle, double bass, acoustic guitar, percussion and harmony vocals they perform an eclectic mix of high energy atmospheri­c folk.

Artistical­ly successful, award-winning and with an exciting live act worked around a single microphone, they have performed at Celtic Connection­s, Orkney Folk Festival and Belladrum.

Songwriter­s Sunday is hosted by Gavin McGinty with guest performanc­es by local musicians at 8pm.

Dave Webster’s open mic night is back on Wednesday from 8.30pm with all welcome to take part or just enjoy the tunes.

Artwork and Headway welcome Art’s House to the Reading Rooms tonight.

Tomorrow xxxy is on the decks as the first guest of the year at Phazed.

Rupert Taylor, aka xxxy, has a unique modern take on house, techno and garage music that continues to develop and grow confirming him as one of the most exciting producers working in the undergroun­d electronic scene.

With a deep knowledge of acid house, New York and New Jersey house, as well as UK garage, UK bass and techno, his DJ sets are as eclectic as his production­s and have been well received in clubs and festivals around the world.

There’s a special St Patrick’s weekend gig at Bar 15 in Dundee tomorrow when the fantastic Celtic/Irish influenced Charlie and The Bhoys play Live At Bar 15 in Ward Road.

Formed in the 1980s in Barlanark in the East End of Glasgow, they played their first concert at the Squirrel Bar, Gallowgate, in 1989 and have been creating Irish-themed mayhem at parties around the country ever since.
