Quad bike vandal causes thousands of pounds damage

A vandal driving a quad bike has caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to grass in Kinross-shire.

The incident took place between noon on April 7 and 1.30pm on April 10 at Turffit Ltd, Kinross.

A police spokespers­on said the grass was damaged beyond repair, causing “thousands of pounds” worth of damage.

Meanwhile, thieves stole a child’s honesty box set up to collect money from the sale of eggs from outside an address on Perth Road, Abernethy, between 5.30am and 7am on Sunday, April 16.

Elsewhere, an orange cement mixer was stolen from an address in Balmoral Road, Rattray, Blairgowri­e, between 5pm on April 10, and 6.30pm on April 12.

And a diesel generator was stolen from Arran Road, North Muirton Industrial Estate, Perth, between 4pm on March 31, and 8am on April 3.

It is described as portable with green and white marking.

Police are also trying to trace thieves who stole an ornamental 18th Century bust from stables at Abercairne­y earlier this month.

And a thief stole a nail gun from a burgundy Transit van parked in Dunsinane Drive, Perth, between 4pm on April 10 and 10am the following day.

The suspect is described as being six foot tall, of stocky build and wearing a lightcolou­red t-shirt and jogging bottoms.

Thieves stole two mountain bikes from an address in Hatton Road, Blairgowri­e, overnight on Monday, April 10. One was a black Nukeproof, the other a grey Felt bike.
