Perthshire charity cycling event

-

A charity sportive, now in its third year, will take participants along some of Perthshire’s most scenic roads.

For the cyclists on the Tayside Challenge on Saturday May 6 there is a choice of an 81-mile or a 46-mile route.

The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Perth Kinnoull working in partnership with Malawi Fruits.

It will raise funds to support local Perthshire charities and national and international causes, including Malawi Fruits, which is taking help to some of the world’s poorest communities in Africa.

“Being just three weeks before the Cairn o’ Mount Challenge it’s the perfect warmup event,” said a spokesman for the organisers.

“The Tayside Challenge is based in the beautiful village of Pitcairngreen, just west of Perth.

“The longer route has a great climb out of Kenmore, or take the 46-mile route for a more regular workout.

“Due to the generosity of local food and drink producers, and the time given by Rotarians, you can rest assured that almost all your entry fees so generously given will be donated to the charities concerned.”

All participants are requested to register online at www. entrycentral.com
