Album a feast of culture and history
Slipway’s debut is a feast for both music fans and those with a taste for the town’s most famous culinary treat.
Fit O The Toon was penned by Mr Lamb in praise of the Arbroath Smokie, and pupils from Timmergreens Primary have already been backing singers for a couple of public performances of the tune.
The playlist also features songs about the town’s cliffs, the Arbroath lifeboat disaster in 1953 and Mystery of the Boy and Girl, about the theft of the trawler Girl Jean by 13-yearold John Guthrie in 1950, who was found four days later off the coast of Norway.
Elsewhere, We’re The Lichties is a tribute to the club’s record-breaking 36-0 victory in September 1885 over Bon Accord.
