Passenger hunted over homophobic abuse
A man who shouted homophobic abuse and threatened to attack another man on a train is being hunted by police.
The incident happened on the 8.35am Mount Florida to Glasgow Central train on Wednesday.
Police said the suspect began to “hurl homophobic abuse” at the victim and then threatened to assault him when the train arrived at Glasgow Central.
He is described as 5ft 8in with a slim build and short dark hair. He was wearing a grey jacket and travelling with a woman.
PC Caroline Irving said: “We will not tolerate any kind of hate crime on the rail network and we take every report of this kind of behaviour seriously.
“I am keen to speak to anyone who may have been travelling on the service at the stated time who may be able to provide some information about the incident.”
