-

Roddy Grant is to return to Edinburgh in a coaching role as Stevie Scott departs.

Grant, who made more than 100 appearances for Edinburgh, will be assistant forwards coach under the new management of Richard Cockerill after his spell working at the BT Sport Scottish Rugby Academy.

Calum MacRae had previously been brought in as defence coach while Duncan Hodge is reverting to the role of attack coach following his spell in interim charge.

Scott was forwards coach for four years following a spell as caretaker head coach.

A club statement read: “Scott played an important role in the club, particularly in developing young talent, and leaves with our best wishes for the future.”

Cockerill added: “Following encouraging discussions with all involved, we’re excited to confirm the coaching and management set-up for the season ahead.

“Roddy, Duncan and Calum all have a great affinity with Edinburgh and our supporters, which will prove instrumental in developing a strong culture for the club going forward.”
