Warriors to bring in New Zealander
Former New Zealand winger Lelia Masaga is to join Glasgow this summer, the Guinness PRO12 club have announced.
The 30-year-old Chiefs back has penned a two-year contract with the Warriors, subject to completing a medical and obtaining a visa.
Masaga, who will arrive following the conclusion of the Super Rugby season, has played 91 times for the Hamilton-based franchise and won two Super Rugby titles under incoming Warriors coach Dave Rennie in 2012 and 2013.
Capped once for the All Blacks against Italy in 2009, Masaga scored 38 tries in Super Rugby before moving to Japan and has since returned to the Chiefs’ wider training squad this season.
Masaga said: “I’m excited to be joining my new club Glasgow Warriors in August.
“I’m looking forward to being there under Dave Rennie as head coach, to be part of a great team of players and to meet all the fans who support the club.”
