Pie firm hopes judges will say aye in national awards

A local firm is one of eight Scottish food producers to have reached the finals of the Delicious Produce Awards 2017.

The awards, run by delicious magazine, put Britain’s top producers centre-stage, with the winning products and producers announced in the glossy food magazine’s October 2017 issue, and then featured throughout the year.

Mr C’s Hand-Crafted Pies Ltd has made the final for its salmon and smoked seafood charcuteri­e pie.

The regional judges were chef Nick Nairn, food writer Sue Lawrence and Fiona Burrell, of The Edinburgh New Town Cookery School.

The regional finalists will be judged in London in July.
