SWI winners in seasons-themed handcraft competitions

A display of handcrafts, cooking, baking and floral art at Blairgowrie SWI Group’s annual competitions in the town hall on Saturday drew many favourable comments.

The competitions were on the themes of spring, summer, autumn and winter. Swan Trophy winners (winter) – 1 Burrelton and Woodside; 2 Rattray; 3 Kirkmichael. Best items: Embroidered – Helen Horny, Kirkmichael (cross stitch scene); knitted (Jean Drummond Quaich) – Margaret Gordon, Burrelton and Woodside (knitted socks); sewn – Kathleen McCormick, Rattray (lady’s hat); Own choice – Christine Woods, Drimmieburn and Meikleour (tatted snowflakes).
