BUTTERSTON­E. President Fiona Bruges welcomed Bill Nicol and he shared his many experience­s as a BBC cameraman. Competitio­n: Highlander shortbread – 1 Fiona Bruges, 2 Marilyn Hale, 3 Iona O’Connor.

COMRIE. President Joyce Carnegie welcomed Drew Watson and Pierre Leger who gave a talk on cheesemaki­ng. Competitio­ns: Oatcakes – 1 Anne Lawson, 2 Mairi Philp, 3 Joyce Carnegie; article with a mouse on it – 1 Muriel Gregory, 2 Winifred Henry, 3 Myra Keith.

DULL and DISTRICT. President Pam McDiarmid welcomed members to the AGM. The ladies were entertaine­d by Aberfeldy Community Choir. Competitio­ns: Oven scones – 1 Primrose McDiarmid, 2 Maureen Morrison, 3 Kathy Pearson; flower of the month – 1 Primrose McDiarmid, 2 Pam McDiarmid, 3 Teresa da Silva. The silver salver for most points for the year was presented to Primrose McDiarmid.

FOWLIS WESTER. Inventor, designer, painter and raconteur Jonathan Sainsbury gave a talk titled An Artist’s Story. Competitio­ns: Baby’s knitted hat – 1 Wilma Brown, 2 Anne Hubbard, 3 Heather Walker; chocolate eclairs – 1 Audrey McColl, 2 Wilma Brown, 3 Heather Walker; Mrs Gawzial Cup (crocheted coaster) – Wilma Brown

KINLOCH. At the AGM new member Pat Mucha was welcomed as vice-president. Competitio­ns: Flower of the month – E. Campbell; handy tip – 1 J Shepherd, 2 P Mucha, 3 E Campbell; doorstop – 1 J Shepherd, 2 E Campbell. The annual quaich, in memory of Margaret Harris, was for a plain gingerbrea­d and was won by Elspeth Campbell. Overall points: 1 J Shepherd, 2 E Campbell; prize for most entries – E Neill and E Campbell.

LOGIEALMON­D. The last meeting of the session was the AGM, with two visitors from Methven attending. Competitio­ns: Jar of orange curd – 1 Joyce Begg, 2 Liz Drummond, 3 Ros Pearson; flower of the month – Kate Leathley. The Walker Cup points trophy was won by Carol McKinlay, and the Nan Baird Trophy was won by Joyce Begg.

PERTH and KINROSS FEDERATION. The Centenary Embroidery designed and worked by members of Perth and Kinross Federation paid a visit to Strathearn Community Campus in Crieff to allow members of the public to view it and also add a few stitches if they wished.
