General Electionreflection
It finally happened, writes Kieran Andrews.
Theresa May met a real life voter yesterday, and she certainly wasn’t pre-approved by the Downing Street dogs who snarl at potential trouble and are tasked with making everything run smoothly for the PM.
In fairness to the Conservative leader, she didn’t shy away from Cathy Mohan, who pleaded for help and said changes to benefits had left her living on £100 a month.
Critics will correctly say she avoided answering directly or taking responsibility for the situation, despite having been part of the government for seven years.
Such interventions from members of the public have gone much worse for politicians in the past, though.
