Lance-Sergeant Mininch, who has had considerable service, has had the intimation that he has won the St George’s Cross for meritorious service in the field. A native of Dundee, he enlisted six years ago in the same regiment in which his father had served. He was one of the original members of the Indian Expeditionary Force in France.

The group, which has already launched a petition, will declare their objections to the controversial move during action outside Fife College’s Dunfermline campus next month. It follows a ruling by the college to cancel its full-time automotive programmes, which include lessons on vehicle maintenance and body repair and can lead to apprenticeships or fulltime work in the industry. One student launched an online campaign.
