Dutiaume sees signs of progress

-

Todd Dutiaume admitted his new-look Fife Flyers have been sloppy in the pre-season games.

However, the Canadian-born playcaller sees progress in his team following challenge double-headers against German side Kassel Huskies and Danish combine Herlev Eagles.

Dutiaume takes his squad to Murrayfield this weekend for the inaugural Scottish Elite Cup.

And he sees the benefit of the weekend as he weighs up the opposition the club will face in the Gardiner Conference this season.

Fife square-up to Dundee Stars in tomorrow’s opener at 2pm.

Braehead Clan face Edinburgh Capitals in the second semi-final, and the final and third-place play-off are on Sunday from 3pm, also at Murrayfield.

Meanwhile, Omar Pacha yesterday reflected on Dundee Stars’ narrow challenge victory over Edinburgh Capitals and said: “We can be better.”

The demanding coach saw his men overturn a 3-2 penalty shots defeat at Murrayfield on Sunday to claim a 3-2 victory in regular time at the Dundee Ice Arena on Wednesday in the return.

Canadian-born Pacha said his squad have no injuries but a few bumps and bruises.

The players on duty on Wednesday will all be at Murrayfield tomorrow for the semi-final clash with Fife Flyers (2pm).
