GAELIC:

The Gaelic Society of Perth will hold a ceilidh in St Matthew’s Church Hall, Tay Street, on Friday at 7.30pm.

Mod gold medallists Graham Neilson and Carol MacLean will be singing together with Anne Bennet.

Kathryn Speight will play the fiddle and Alistair Duthie the pipes.

BANKFOOT:

A special Christmas afternoon tea will be served at Bankfoot Church Centre on Tuesday December 12 from 2pm to 4pm.

ERROL:

Errol Christmas lights will be switched on at the Cross on Sunday December 3 at 6.30pm with mince pies afterwards at the Masonic Lodge.

ACTIVITY DAY:

Perth Methodists, in conjunctio­n with the Congregati­onal Church and YMCA, are holding an activity day at their Scott Street church on Thursday from 8.45am to 3.15pm for primaries 4 to 7.

Activities will include games, crafts and baking.

PANTO:

Perthshire Young Farmers are rehearsing for this year’s pantomime, Mother Goose.

The performanc­es will take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, December 7, 8 and 9, in the Birnam Institute, with curtain up at 7pm.

Money raised from the pantomime will go to the Samaritans of Perth and Camphill Blair Drummond.

Glenfarg Folk Club’s latest meeting takes place at Backstage at the Green Hotel in Kinross on Monday November 20 from 7.30pm.

Entertainm­ent will come from singer Bram Taylor.

Crime author Chris Brookmyre will be talking about his new book, Places in the Darkness, at the Watermill in Aberfeldy next Saturday from 7pm.
