Community projects urged to apply for share of £30,000 pot

-

Community projects across Perth and Kinross are being urged to take advantage of a major new funding opportunity.

The Creative Communities funding is available to activities and events that encourage people to get involved in cultural activities and showcase the talents of local people.

The second round of funding has made £30,000 available, with grants of up to £1,500 per project on offer.

Applications are welcomed from community groups, charities, networks, partnerships, parent teacher associations, residents associations, arts organisations, geographical communities and other communities of interest.

Projects can be a one-off, a series of regular events, a special exhibition, performance or something that reflects the community.

Provost of Perth and Kinross, Dennis Melloy, said: “I am looking forward to hearing more about the benefits that this funding is helping bring to local communities in Perth and Kinross.

“We witnessed a number of very innovative projects benefit from the first round of funding.

“I would therefore urge people who want to celebrate the diversity of their community and have projects in mind which will bring communities and generations together to celebrate and connect with their local culture and use digital technology in an innovative or creative way to apply for a share of the money.”

The CCF programme will close either when all of the funds have been allocated or on March 9 2018 though successful projects must be completed by March 31 2018.
