Charity seeks new volunteers
Perth Citizens Advice Bureau is seeking volunteers to join its team and make a difference to the lives of people in need.
The organisation helps thousands of people each year who are struggling with problems such as benefits claims and debt.
Perth CAB has more than 60 volunteers who undertake various roles, from administration to IT, fundraising and serving on the board of directors.
During 2016-17 they contributed more than 17,000 hours of unpaid work to the charity, which has become a lifeline for local people.
Anyone interested in joining the team is invited to attend a volunteering information event at Perth CAB offices on Atholl Crescent on Thursday, between 3.30 and 5pm.
The organisation’s next volunteer training programme will begin in January.
The chairman of the board of directors, Sam Kennedy, said: “Were it not for our skilled and dedicated volunteers we could not provide the service we do.
“They are involved in many aspects of the bureau’s work and come from a variety of backgrounds, with a very wide range of skills and experience.
“All our volunteers bring something of value to the team and the diversity of the workforce is one of our strengths.”
