Todd Dutiaume celebrated an Elite League weekend double with Fife Flyers to boost confidence in the squad.

Meanwhile, Dundee Stars – the Flyers’ victims on Saturday – last night snapped a two-game losing run.

The Kirkcaldy club last night emerged with a 4-3 victory at Coventry Blaze despite being outshot 43-21.

Goaltender Andy Iles produced for Fife, who claimed the points thanks to an Evan Bloodoff power-play goal after 47 minutes.

Coventry went ahead through Ben Lake after nine minutes, only for Liam Heelis to level nine minutes later.

Former Flyers star Ryan Dingle slotted the second for Blaze 11 minutes after that unassisted.

Shayne Stockton tied things up for a second time on the power play after 33 minutes.

Lake scored a third for Blaze just over a minute later, but back came Fyers with Chase Schaber netting with 54 seconds left of the period.

That left Bloodoff to claim the glory after being set-up by Heelis and Ian Young.

Johan Andersson and Brian Hart were Dundee Stars’ goal heroes last night as the injury-hit Taysiders notched up a 2-0 home victory over high-flying Belfast Giants.

The sides blanked the first period but Andersson broke the deadlock after 24 minutes following a pass from Riley Stadel.

Hart followed up with number two after 46 minutes, Gabriel Levesque and Stadel setting up the chance.

The win was achieved despite Stars being outshot 28-22.

On Saturday, Fife goaltender Iles faced 18 shots, while Dundee Stars’ netminder Travis Fullerton handled 33 as Flyers skated to a 5-1 victory at Rosslyn Street.

Schaber opened the scoring for the home side after six minutes and Peter Le Blanc made it 2-0 20 minutes later.

It was 3-0 thanks to Carlo Finucci three minutes after that before MarcOlivier Mimar pulled one back for the visitors with one second left of the middle session.

Bloodoff’ netted after 44 minutes and Fife-born Josh Scoon followed up two minutes later to complete the scoring.

Meanwhile, Stars have sneaked into the quarter-finals of the first major competition of the season.

The Tayside team have a better thirdplaced record in the Challenge Cup and move forward.

Braehead Clan are out in the cold along with Edinburgh Capitals after the Glasgow side lost 5-1 at Nottingham Panthers in Challenge Cup Group A in the Midlands on Saturday night.
