Sparkle nights at Perth beauty salon make cash for Marie Curie

-

The team at award-winning hair and beauty salon Charlie Taylor has brought some festive cheer to lifeline charity Marie Curie.

Nearly 200 people attended the ever-popular Sparkle Nights, hosted on consecutive nights at salons in Dundee and Perth.

Donations on the night, as well as proceeds from raffle tickets for prizes donated by the salon and other local companies, helped raise more than £1,200 for Marie Curie, which provides help and support for people living with cancer and other terminal illnesses.

Charlie and her team hosted ultra-glamorous evenings where guests got to sample a full pamper package.

There were also make-up sessions, braiding, up-dos, nail art, skin treatments and extension demonstrations.

The Marie Curie Sparkle Night fundraiser is an annual event for three times-Scottish Hairdresser of the Year Charlie, who has been celebrating 30 years in business this year by giving Marie Curie’s team of nurses individual makeovers to reward them for their work.

“We get involved in lots of fundraising events throughout the year, but our Marie Curie Sparkle Night is one of my favourites,” said Charlie.

“For us it marks the beginning of Christmas, and helps us remember those who might be facing challenges during the festive season.

“I also wanted to give other local businesses an opportunity to show off what they do best.”

She added: “None of our charity work or community interaction would be possible without the time and energy of our teams across both salons.

“They never hesitate to volunteer their time to the various causes we support.”
