Jim McColl to visit conference
Television gardener Jim McColl will be appearing in Perthshire for the 12th Trellis Therapeutic Gardening Conference.
The event will take place on Friday from 9.30am until 4.30pm at The Bield, Blackruthven. Mr McColl will form part of a Trellis gardeners’ question time panel.
The conference will bring together more than 140 delegates and will showcase therapeutic gardening projects from the Trellis network.
A host of workshops will be held, including a session on fruit and vegetables, hosted by Ken Cox of Glendoick Garden Centre, and another on gardening for butterflies and bees, which will be led by Anthony McCluskey of the Butterfly Conservation Trust.
Organisations such as Keep Scotland Beautiful, Horatio’s Garden, Greenspace Scotland, Scottish Heritage Fruit Trees, South Lanarkshire College and Butterfly Conservation will all run stalls.
A spokesperson for Perthbased Trellis said: “Feedback from previous conferences highlights the many benefits practitioners get from sharing knowledge and experience with people from other projects.
“Delegates can exchange ideas and good practice and browse stalls.”
The event fee is £57 per delegate or £47 for members of Trellis.
