Woman attacked man with glass

-

A Perth woman left her partner bleeding heavily after stabbing him with a smashed wine glass.

Barrie Cameron suffered wounds to his arm, leg and head when he was attacked by Susan Crabb last year.

Crabb claimed Mr Cameron had inflicted the wounds on himself after telling her he would make sure she was prosecuted for causing them.

Crabb, 35, of St Catherine’s Square, had denied assaulting Mr Cameron by repeatedly striking him on the head and body with a piece of broken glass at an address in Tulloch Square last October.

However, she was found guilty by Sheriff Lindsay Foulis.

Mr Cameron told Perth Sheriff Court that Crabb appeared to be “having fun” as she attacked him. He said he tried to stem the blood as he packed a bag with clothes and fled to the police station, where officers called an ambulance.

CCTV footage from a nearby shop showed him to be uninjured a short time before the attack.

Sheriff Foulis told Crabb: “The corroboration of Mr Cameron’s account comes from a number of factors.

“Firstly he is uninjured a very short time before the incident.

“In the remarks you made to the police there’s no suggestion that Mr Cameron is injured in any way to the head or thigh.”

Sentence was deferred until next month for reports.
