Pian­ist, ar­ranger and com­poser Janette Ma­son has a di­verse and lengthy ca­reer be­hind her, and her CV is im­pres­sive.

As a ses­sion and live tour­ing key­board player, par­tic­u­larly in the 1990s, her ros­ter of artists worked with in­cludes Oa­sis (on their 1996 MTV Un­plugged show), Pulp, Robert Wy­att, Suzanne Vega, Seal and KD Lang, while she was also known on­screen as the mu­si­cal di­rec­tor on Jonathan Ross’ show Saturday Zoo and An­toine “Euro­trash” de Caunes’ Le Show.

More re­cently she’s com­posed sound­tracks for the films Ruby Blue (2007), star­ring Bob Hoskins, and The Call­ing (2009), with Brenda Blethyn, hav­ing al­ready com­posed for the doc­u­men­tary about the fem­i­nist days of the Left Bank Paris Was a Woman (1996), while her music also ap­peared in episodes of Sex and the City and the Drew Carey Show.

Her al­bums in­clude the amus­ingly-named Din and Tonic, D’Ranged and this month’s Red Alert, which this show will cel­e­brate.

NYOS will cel­e­brate na­ture in tonight’s con­cert.
