HISTORY

The Coupar Angus and District Heritage Associatio­n’s next meeting is on Friday at 7.30pm in St Anne’s Church Hall.

Speaker Joe Richards will be talking about new photos of old Coupar Angus.

The group is also running the George Street charity shop this week.

TOWER TOUR

St John’s Kirk in Perth is once again offering people the chance to visit the tower.

The first of the summer’s guided visits will take place on Saturday, from 2-3.45pm.

It is an opportunit­y to see the famous bells at close range and get a panoramic view of the city.

BRACO PICNIC

The Braco and Greenloani­ng Women’s Institute is marking its centenary with a picnic in the grounds of Braco Caste on Saturday May 26.

Times are 11am to 4pm with official opening at noon.

GLENFARG

The Glenfarg Folk Club will return to Backstage at the Green Hotel, Kinross, next Monday.

Doors open at 7.30pm, and music starts at 8pm.

The springtime-inspired theme for the evening will be Hope, Happiness and Joy.

Entry is £2.

MUSIC

The next meeting of the ButtonKey Accordion Club will be held at the Windygates Institute, Leven, on Thursday from 7pm. Guest artist will be Gavin Piper.

FLOWER SHOW

Perth & District Chrysanthe­mum and Dahlia Society will be holding its annual plant sale on Saturday in Perth city centre as part of the farmers market.

There will be a good selection of bedding plants, hanging baskets and tub plants, as well as spray chrysanths and tomatoes. It starts at 9am.

ARMY RECRUITMEN­T A number of Army recruitmen­t stalls will be in place at North Inch this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Soldiers from local units will be on hand from noon to 5pm answering questions about life in the armed forces.

Staff from the Army Careers Centre Dundee will be available to discuss the joining process.
