Strathmore competitio­n draws top players from across region

Players from across the country converged on Kirriemuir for the 35th annual Strathmore Piping Society open competitio­n, held in Webster’s High School.

The event drew participan­ts from as far afield as Peterculte­r and Strathaven for classes from chanter to open competitio­n including piobaireac­hd.

In the junior championsh­ip, Broughty Ferry’s Fraser Robson took the title, ahead of Campbell Stewart from Methil and Methven’s Archie McNab.

The senior championsh­ip was won by Jordan Ednie from Monifieth, ahead of Luke Kennedy, Strathaven, and Dundee player Kayleigh Paley.
