Brechin close in on Burns as Lichties eye Jamieson

-

Brechin City are closing in on the signing of Queen’s Park captain Sean Burns.

Burns who started his career at St Mirren has been with the Spiders since 2011 and he has played in more than 250 games in every outfield position during that time.

City manager Darren Dods said: “Sean has the experience of playing for St Mirren as a teenager and then regularly for Queen’s Park over recent seasons.

“We had looked at him before. However, his job away from football had made his signing difficult. That has changed recently so we are talking again.”

● Arbroath are hoping to sign Hamilton Accies goalkeeper Darren Jamieson, who was released by the Premiership side last weekend.

Lichties manager Dick Campbell has freed shotstoppers David Hutton and Ricky Gomes and that has cleared the decks for the signing of the 27-year-old who spent six years with Livingston before joining Accies after a short spell at junior side Bo’ness.
