Kelty boss Barry Ferguson snaps up two new signings

Barry Ferguson has made his first foray into the transfer market to snap up two new signings for Kelty Hearts.

The former Rangers and Scotland skipper has signed Finn Graham from Arbroath after the former Dunfermlin­e, Berwick Rangers and Brechin City midfielder was allowed to leave Gayfield.

And Ferguson, who took over at the Fife outfit last month, has also secured the return to Kelty of defender Sean O’Neil, who left the club after four years to join Dundonald Bluebell in the summer.

Kelty sit top of the Lowland League ahead of this afternoon’s trip to face Edusport Academy at Galabank.

Central Taxis East of Scotland League Conference A

Hill of Beath will regroup and go again following their narrow defeat by Musselburg­h Athletic last weekend as they make the long trip to Coldstream.

Kevin Fotheringh­am is without Michael Watt and Lewis Elder through injury.

Oakley United return home to Blairwood Park for the first time in November as they host Leith Athletic. The visitors are one of only two former EOSL clubs to have a place in the top five of any of the three conference­s and will be tough opponents for Stewart Kenny’s side. Kenny expects to have a similar squad to the one beaten 4-1 at Dunbar United last time out.

Conference B Crossgates Primrose face a tough ask this weekend as they travel to take on leaders Bonnyrigg Rose at New Dundas Park. The Fife club have this week signed Mark Forbes from Dundonald Bluebell and he comes straight in to manager Alan Campbell’s squad.

There is a big game in Conference B as Dundonald Bluebell travel to take on big spending Tranent at Forester Park. Second-placed Bluebell are four points ahead of Tranent in fourth but the East Lothian side have three games in hand.

Burntislan­d Shipyard travel to Dunipace in an important game towards the bottom of the table. Shippy sit in 11th place on four points while the hosts are a place and a point behind. Grant Brough has a full squad available.

Conference C

It’s tight at the top of Conference C with three points separating the top four clubs.

Fourth-placed Camelonist­hedestinat­ion for Inverkeith­ing Hillfield Swifts and Carmuirs Park will hold no surprises for Swifts boss Lee Duffy who played there a number of times as a junior player.

Third-placed Jeanfield Swifts – unbeaten in the league so far – have been boosted by the signing of Scott and Fraser Smith from Broughty Athletic and the brothers go straight into Ross Gunnion’s squad for the trip to Stirling University EOS.

St Andrews United travel to take on bottom club Ormiston after last week’s comfortabl­e win over Stirling University.

Andy Brown welcomes back Daryl Falconer, Michael Fleming and Stewart McDonald.
