Fears are growing for a missing Blairgowrie man who vanished from his home a week ago.

Lee Brown has not been seen for seven days, despite extensive search efforts by the emergency services and members of the public.

The 34-year-old, who has been described as vulnerable, was reported missing in the early hours of Friday November 30.

A large-scale hunt around of the River Ericht was carried out over several days following a possible sighting.

Fire crews and members of the public joined the riverside search on Saturday evening, but no trace of Mr Brown was found.

Police returned to the town yesterday, seven days after he went missing.

Mr Brown has been described by police as a “high risk” and it is believed he left home without his phone.

Inspector Emma Bowman, who is leading the inquiry, said yesterday: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Lee’s welfare, given he has now been missing for a week.

“Officers revisited the area where he was last seen in the early hours of this morning in the hope of jogging people’s memories.

“Specialist searches have been carried out along the banks of the River Ericht and nearby wooded areas.

“The fire and rescue service and police marine dive unit conducted a search of the water’s surface and shorelines, which continued over a period of four days.”

She said: “Officers are continuing with house-to-house inquiries and reviewing CCTV. We would again ask residents to check any sheds, garages or outbuildings for any signs that someone might have been there”.

Mr Brown uses a walking stick and is around 5ft 10in, slim and has short brown hair.

He could have been wearing a camouflage jacket and a blue bucket hat when he disappeared.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the police on 101 or speak to any police officer.
