Courier’s Menu mag­a­zine wins sup­ple­ment award

The Menu team were over the moon to win News­pa­per Sup­ple­ment of the Year at the PPA Scot­tish Mag­a­zine Awards in Glas­gow on Thurs­day night.

The PPA Scot­tish Mag­a­zine Awards are the premier cel­e­bra­tion of tal­ent in Scot­land’s mag­a­zine me­dia sec­tor.

This year’s glitzy five-course gala din­ner was held at SWG3 in Glas­gow and hosted by co­me­dian Des Clarke.

Menu was short­listed along with The Courier’s Week­end mag­a­zine, and [email protected], The Times Scot­land, Canon­gate Com­mu­ni­ca­tions.

Menu ed­i­tor Caroline Lindsay said: “Win­ning this award means so much to the team, es­pe­cially as Menu is still a young sup­ple­ment – we’re only in our sec­ond year of pro­duc­ing it.

“A big thanks to our chefs, colum­nists, blog­gers and, of course, our read­ers.

“The award has made us even more de­ter­mined to bring the best of Courier Coun­try’s food and drink to our read­ers.”

The judg­ing panel said: “The win­ner does ex­actly what you want it to, in a very stylish way, with the use of beau­ti­ful pho­tog­ra­phy that draws the reader in. The con­tent in­spires you – with a fo­cus on lo­cal chefs and pro­duce this is a sup­ple­ment you will wish to keep!”

There is still time to en­ter The Menu Food and Drink Awards 2019 across the 11 cat­e­gories:

Cof­fee Shop of the Year; Street Ven­dor of the Year; Restau­rant of the Year; Chef of the Year; Farm to Fork Awards – Food and Drink; New Tal­ent (Ris­ing Star); Pub of the Year; and four new cat­e­gories: Best Craft Beer; Best Craft Dis­tiller; Cock­tail Bar of the Year; and Best New­comer.

The win­ners will be an­nounced on March 28. The closing date for en­tries is Jan­uary 11 2019 – and it’s free to en­ter.
